Maya Chalk Simulation for Project Runway
After shooting some slow motion chalk plates with the Project Runway talent on set, the client wanted a few more chalk throws added to each shot. I did about 80 chalk simulations using Maya’s nParticle system emitting into a fluid container. The lighting was simple enough to use Viewport 2.0. Here is one of my favorites:
The chalk that hits her dress is practical, the chalk that makes it to the far left is simulated.
